Sizing The Furler
Sizing the 3DFurler is easier than other Roller Furlers.
All you need is the measurement from the where the wire goes into the Top Stud of the Turnbuckle top to the very top of the wire where it attaches to the mast.
To accomplish this while on deck mast up, use a Jib Halyard line attached to a shackle around the UNOBSTRUCTED stay wire, with a messenger line attached to prevent it from staying aloft and also act as your measuring line.
Carefully hoist the shacklle up until it reaches the top. Be careful not to snag it on anything.
Mark the messenger where the wire goes into the Top Stud.
Now bring the halyard down and measure the messenger line.

360 Inches
Deduct Top Clearance - between 6 and 8 inches (can vary with forestay angle)
352 Inches
Deduct Drum Clearance of 6 Inches
Net Distance 346 Inches
Calculate:
346/12 = 28,83 Inches
Use a 28 Foot Furler
Sizing the Sail
Experienced Sailors and Sailmakers will advise you to wait until you have installed the Roller Furler before assuming any measurements. are correct.We strongly support that.
In all cases we suggest you allow 6 inches below the Furler Top Pulley and 2 to 3 inches above the Drum Top.

Deduct Top Clearance 7 Inches
Deduct Drum Clearance 8 Inches
Estimated Sail Length - 321 Inches
