Wind Loads
Below is an informational chart representing Wind Speeds and the resulting loads that accompany them.

From a study of 1226 Sailboat Injuries, 22% were a result of "caught in lines". Sheet load is directly proportional to High Wind loading.
Note that the force is 4 times when the wind is doubled.
