3DFurler - Polymer Roller Furler

Introduction

Roller furling systems have long been a cornerstone of modern sailing for over 60 years, enabling sailors to reef and deploy headsails with efficiency and safety.

Traditionally, available systems have relied on either Aluminum, Resin and PVC foils with complex Top , Foil and Drum designed assemblies to handle the simple act of rolling up a sail but with a hefty price tag in labor and brand name.

As sailors  , 3DFurler.com has pioneered the development of Polymer Components in conjunction with innovative engineering, to deliver a truly remarkable Roller Furler system that will never fall victim to Halyard Wrap, Drum Bearing Failure or Corrosion.

We started developing our prototypes using 3D printing as a prototype method. It was during ourinitial laboratory testing period when we discovered that 3D Printing, with the right materials and equipment would outperfrom metal,

Co-Polymer vs. PVC vs. Resin vs. Metal Foils

3D Furler co‑polymer foils are engineered from advanced polymer blends that deliver a markedly lighter structure while eliminating vulnerability to nicks, dents, and other surface damage. Their modular 12‑inch segment architecture streamlines installation, enhances durability under load, and removes the risk of spoilage or performance degradation.

3DFurler Design Criteria

1. Eliminate the need to go Aloft

2. No Removal of Standing Rigging
3. Safely Install from the Deck - Mast Up
